Long version:
I am Ann Handley, and this is my personal web log. This is a place to talk about the state of “Annarchy.” Annarchy is my world: a general state of disorder and occasional (yes!) chaos. Here, I talk about the interesting bits of life, the stuff that doesn’t fit into either my business blogging or freelance editorializing.
What I do: I am a veteran of creating and managing digital content to build relationships for organizations and individuals, and I have a demonstrated ability to develop content strategy and to fully execute on it. I have a real passion for building community, particularly in using new media tools to broaden and build value.
Currently, I work as the Chief Content Officer of MarketingProfs, which provides strategic and tactical marketing know-how and training for marketing and business professionals. I write a monthly column for Entrepreneur Magazine as well as contribute regularly to MarketingProfs and its blog, the MarketingProfs Daily Fix,. I am also an occasional contributor to The Huffington Post, American Express OPEN Forum, Mashable
Previously, I was the co-founder of ClickZ, one of the first sources of interactive marketing news and commentary. Prior to that, I spent 12 years as a business editor and writer for both local and national trade and consumer publications.
I live near Boston in a slightly creaky, comfortable house with 2 kids, 3 dogs, good coffee in the kitchen, decent wine in the cellar, a stack of New Yorkers by the bed, and an occasional field mouse in the laundry room.
If you are still wanting, you can find out more about me here:
Or possibly nothing is more fun than following me on Twitter.com/marketingprofs

Ann, just saw you now have a personal blog from a tweet. Should be interesting how you manage your time between Huffington, MarketingProfs and everything else!
Keep in touch,
Dan

Dear Ann, glad to have found your blog!
The girl in the header is very cute…but it is the car that caught my eye.
To my all to vivid imagination it looks just like my 65 Mustang down to the color.
Keep creating,
Mike

Annarchy… Too funny, girl! Glad to see that you’re still talkin’ turkey like the old ClickZ days. Keep ‘em coming and thanks for sending me the link.
Love the picture, BTW.
Hugs, Barb!

Just found you and your blog via Ann Kingsman’s post about bookseller blogs and wanted to reach out as I, too, work in marketing (publishing consultant focusing on marketing children’s books) and live in Andover and frequent the Andover Bookstore (plus am a fan of Marketing Profs). Always nice to read from a fellow Andoverite … would love to meet you for a cup of coffee in town should you find yourself with a free 30 minutes…

Hi Ann, you don’t know me, but I know about you because your sister is married to my son. The Rick and Pat Show, live and ongoing. I really like your blog and wish you well. Last year I wrote a book of quips, quotes and favorite sayings , not for publishing, just for fun. I gave one to my husband, David and one to my daughter, Hope. They were complete with pictures that I drew on each page, really primitive looking junk, but they loved them and went around showing them to everybody they met, to my embarrassment. It was fun to do, but I don’t think I’ll do it again. Pat tells me you are interested in writing a book. Well, girl, go for it. You are very talented and erudite. I would love to read such a book when it’s published. Well, now you know me and I’m very happy to know you. I love your quirky sense of humor. I hope to see more of your work. Love and best wishes, Joan.

I forgot to mention that you and Pat look a lot alike, I think. Your baby pic reminds me of Jerry when he was that age. Cutest little boy in the world. Joan

Hi Ann: Your comment on The 3rd House (my professional blog) led me to your personal blog and now, I find that we have so much in common, both personally (the FT working mom gig) and professionally (marketing and technology).
So I thought, you can check out the other side of me…my husband and I started an organic nursery four years ago! I thought you might like to see my “other side” since you were gracious enough to share yours!
Hopefully our paths cross face-to-face someday! Boston is one of the cities where I feel at home. – Linda
